Meeting Schedule


Meetings are held at 2:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month, except December and January, in the Huntington Meeting Room located on the first floor of the Main Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library unless noted otherwise.  The library is located at 325 North Michigan Street, Toledo, Ohio. Regular meeting are open to the public and consist of announcements and a program. Plan to arrive early and do some research in the Local History and Genealogy Department on the third floor of the library before the meeting.

Program: “Interurban Railroads in Northwestern Ohio”

Speaker: Mike McMaster, Educational Director of the Wood County Historical Society.

Program: Annual field trip - Lathrop House in Sylvania, Ohio at 2:00 p.m.

Program: “Free Masons—What You Need to Know about the Society to Find the Records”

Speaker: Sandy McPherson. Sandy is a member and past president of our chapter and past editor of Fort Industry Reflections.

Location: Main Branch of the  Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 325 Michigan Street, Toledo, Ohio, 43604 in the Huntington Meeting Room on the first floor at 2:00 p.m.

Program: Lunch at the Black Pearl Restaurant, 4630 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio, across from the Stranahan Theater. We will meet at 2:00 p.m. for food, fun, and good conversation. We will order from the menu.

Program: “Gerry’s Journey to Find Her Birth Father--a Case Study”

Speaker: Kelli Bergheimer. Kelli is a member of our chapter from Franklin County, Ohio. She is the facilitator for the Central Ohio DNA interest group as well as a nationally known speaker.

Program: ”Preserving Your Research Through Self-Publishing”

Speaker: Brian Fox. Brian is a member of our chapter from Pickerington, Ohio. He received the William H. and Benjamin Harrison award from the Ohio Genealogy Society in 2017 for the best book submitted for an Ohio related family history. Location: To be announced.

Program: “United States Immigration Patterns and Policy”

Speaker: Janice Whitaker. Janice is a member of the board of the chapter and publicity chair. Last year Janice informed us about special census schedules.

Program: “Breaking Down Your Brick Walls”

Facilitator: William J Priest. Our member Bill Priest has conducted this help session for a number of years. Send your questions to Bill in advance.
